BS 5970 is the British Standard code of practice for thermal insulation of pipework, ductwork, associated equipment, boilers and storage vessels operating between roughly -100°C and +870°C. Despite being a UK standard, it remains one of the most widely specified codes across GCC industrial and district cooling projects, largely because of the historic influence of British engineering consultancies in the region's oil, gas and utilities sectors.
